LES SOURCES DE CHEVERNY

Imagine a haven of greenery, refinement and serenity just two hours from Paris. After Les Sources de Caudalie, Alice and Jérôme Tourbier are renewing their concept of wine tourism with an enchanting estate in the heart of the Loire Valley, a hamlet that extends over 45 hectares between vineyards and forests and whose every plot amazes its visitors. Les Sources de Cheverny offer a bucolic parenthesis and hold the promise of an exquisite stay between well-being, gastronomy and nature walks.

vue du hameau des Sources de Cheverny

After crossing the woods of the park, Le Château de Breuil is revealed through the branches and tall flying grasses. A historic building that hides a whole set of small buildings subdivided in the middle of a landscaped garden. Grass-lined paths meander around the lake and lead visitors to their cabins, two restaurants, small farm or orchard. In the background, the forest and meadows as far as the eye can see surround the small hamlet and reinforce this feeling of disconnection. This marvelous ensemble with a refined and friendly atmosphere, just like its owners, makes up Les Sources de Cheverny. A peaceful place where there is an unparalleled sweetness of life and which is one of our favorite hotels!

The architecture is signed Yves Collet in collaboration with the creative studio Saint-Lazare (formerly be-poles) and the complicity of Alice Tourbier who developed the interiors together. The decorative concept is a perfect blend of classicism and modernity, and elegance and simplicity define the spirit of the place down to the smallest detail, from the decorative elements to the menu. The historic buildings of the 18th century such as the winery, the castle or the old farmhouses cohabit harmoniously with the contemporary wooden constructions, while the old harwxood forest harmonizes with the recent low vegetation. Cultural heritage and traditions are respected and revisited in a modernist audacity, and the skilfully conducted contrast breathes new life into the French way of life.

In the salons of the castle, stylish furniture and contemporary creations are impeccably balanced with wing chairs, a grand piano, stretched floral fabrics and chandeliers with tassels that match a Living Divani sofa, USM shelves and decorative objects ornaments from the mid-twentieth century. Le Hameau is more contemporary and fits in with the current decorative trend: the lobby revolves around a warm suspended stove surrounded by vintage leather Togo elements and Scandinavian armchairs, travertine coffee tables are enhanced with small bouquets of dried flowers, and a very pretty wool tapestry adorns the teal blue wall. And everywhere, books and games are available to guests to give the family and convivial character of a country house. The whole estate comes in a palette of calm, restful and woody colors tinged with blues, greens and browns reminiscent of the omnipresent nature.

In total, forty-nine rooms and suites spread over six buildings occupy the estate. Le Chateau offers thirteen rooms with more classic decor and bucolic colors taken from the work of Claire Blaservous which adorns the entrance to the spa on the ground floor. The rooms in the sheds and outbuildings are directly inspired by the nature they border. There reigns a soft and cozy atmosphere declined in chalk hues, blond woods and warm fabrics. The bathrooms with contemporary lines offer all the desired comfort.

In addition, to preserve the beauty of the surrounding nature and give meaning and coherence to their project, the hotel inscribes its actions in an ethical and respectful approach to life. The rooms offer spring water, pure, filtered, and served in a glass bottle. Shower treatments are offered in cornstarch plastic containers, which are fully recycled and recyclable. And the guests also participate in the protection of nature by traveling by bike on the estate or by limiting the frequency of changing their towel.

Le Favori

Another treasure of Les Sources de Cheverny is its starred restaurant Le Favori, run by its poetic chef Frédéric Calmels who draws his inspiration from the estate's forest and regional specialities. Comfortably installed in the large cozy room which offers a panoramic view of the estate's gardens, its flowery meadows and its natural ponds, you can savor delicious appetizers, a delicate fillet of pearly monkfish or the exquisite dessert with honey from the estate's hives, while enjoying the nectars recommended by the head sommelier.

L'Auberge & le Bar à Vin

Beneath its imposing wooden frame and stone walls, L'Auberge offers more traditional cuisine that revives forgotten treasures of family cooking. The conviviality of the place is reinforced by the large fireplace which crackles in front of the imposing tiled block while at the end of the room, at the Wine Bar, families and friends can discover the selection of Loire wines including La Grand'Vigne – the cuvée of the house whose vines are located on the estate.

Spa by Caudalie

A spa dedicated to nature whose interior is clad in solid wood from sustainable forests, and whose magnificent framework can be admired above the pool. The new face and body treatments from Caudalie offer the unequaled pleasure of wraps, massages and beauty rituals with grape seed extracts. The spa also offers yoga, sophrology and sylvotherapy sessions as well as a fitness room with WaterRower equipment, whose non-motorized machines are artisanal and ethically manufactured. Outside, a complete immersion in the greenery with the relaxing hot tub surrounded by oak wood like a barrel.

Near Les Sources de Cheverny, visitors can take advantage of the cultural and natural activities offered by this region steeped in history: visits to the Loire castles, remarkable gardens, bike rides, golf, horse riding, visits to the cellars of La Sologne Viticole etc. so many rich and pleasant activities that will complete this bucolic parenthesis.
