KER is a contemporary furniture collection inspired by the Atlantic. Between land and sea, between taut lines and organic curves, raw wood and natural rope, KER reflects a deep attachment to noble materials and craftsmanship. Designed to last, conceived to last for generations, this collection unites contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship.

The Story
From his childhood in Brittany, near Brest, Grégoire de Lafforest retained in his memory the images of the shipyard, the smells of wood, pine tar, and the surf on the beach at the foot of the family home. This maritime universe, its raw materials, its functional forms, and its powerful fragrances shaped his vocation as a designer. Later, during his studies at Penninghen, he met Jérémie du Chaffaut, founder of Midi. From this friendship matured a shared vision: to restore meaning to design, promote local craftsmanship, work with living materials, and draw precise lines. From this encounter, KER was born, offering a contemporary look at the Atlantic universe.

The know-how
Breton heritage is evident throughout this collection. In the past, local furniture was protected from moisture by a layer of pine tar, giving it its deep, dark hue. KER has adopted this ancient technique to patinate its wood and extend the connection between the object and its environment. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, KER creations endure over time: they develop a patina, can be repaired, and passed down. Each piece embodies the strength of a region and the beauty of a living, raw, and timeless material.
To bring KER to life, Grégoire de Lafforest and Jérémie du Chaffaut went straight to the source: the ancestral know-how of the West. From meetings to workshops, they crisscrossed Brittany and its surroundings, guided by the desire to highlight a living heritage: that of foresters, sailors, and shipwrights. From this immersion was born the obviousness of the materials—chestnut, rope, sandstone, slate—raw and sensitive reflections of the Atlantic landscapes. Each material comes from 100% French resources, worked largely in Brittany, to anchor the collection in a local, sustainable, and activist approach.

" Natural, raw materials that capture the essence of Atlantic landscapes. A 100% French resource, processed primarily in Brittany, for an unequivocally sustainable and activist approach. " Grégoire de Lafforest, co-founder.

The collection includes seating pieces —armchairs, chairs, stools— dining tables and coffee tables, as well as lighting and everyday objects —vases and plates. It can be seen in the brand's showroom in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris, and is available exclusively online on the brand's website.
