FAR BRETON WITH PRUNES

Back from vacation in Finistère, we decided to start this week with the "Brittany" theme.

If, like us, you planned to cook homemade snacks and cakes for your children, Far Breton is a good choice as it is simple to prepare and is a copious and cheap cake. Read below, the tasty recipe from Anne, the creator of the gourmet blog On dîne chez Nanou.

Recipe for 6

Prep time 5 minutes + Cook time 60 minutes

. Ingrédients

  • 5 eggs

  • 100 gr caster sugar

  • 80 gr flour

  • ½ litre half skimmed milk

  • 25 ml dark rum

  • 1 teaspoon

  • 400 gr prunes

  • 15 gr salted butter


. Instructions

  1. In a bowl or a terrine, beat the eggs and sugar with a fork

  2. Add the flour and mix

  3. Pour the milk and add rum and vanilla

  4. Stir until you get an homogeneous mixture

  5. Butter a baking dish, place the prunes in the bottom and cover with the mixture

  6. Cook 45 minutes on medium heat and 15 minutes on low heat


It is usually eaten the next day when it is cold, but we also like it slightly warm
