Le Château de la Haute Borde is an original guest house whose vocation is to bring together travelers and artists. Nestled in a wooded park in Loir-et-Cher, the 19th century building offers five stylishly decorated rooms that respect the environment. After a dip in the swimming pool, share your breakfast with the artists in residence and the trio of arty chatelaines who lead the boat.
The story repeats itself! The Château returns to its past when women organized cultural and artistic events there in the 1930s before becoming a post-war hotel-restaurant and then a holiday home. Céline Barrière, Cécile Simon and Violette Platteau therefore remix the friendly and artistic history of the place by offering neat guest rooms in the middle of a haunt of artists and their creations.
In an eco-responsible approach and a desire to promote the regional economy, the trio entrusted the renovation of the Château to conscientious local craftsmen who worked in concert with the architects Charles Marmion and Jeanne Lefrand of the MPM agency. The three partners wanted to create a peaceful and elegant place with sophisticated decoration while respecting virtuous specifications.
The result is a refined and natural atmosphere bathed in a palette of shades of ocher and red, authentic materials such as hemp and lime screeds, brick and marble bathrooms or a cocciopesto floor (ancestral Italian technique) . Everywhere, pieces of furniture and vintage lamps of the XXth century are found here and there, such as a desk by Jean Royère and a sofa by Martin Visser, mixed with works of art and regional handcrafted furniture.

The guests gather in the morning around a buffet made up of, among other things, homemade products such as jams or eggs from ... resident chickens! Customers can enjoy a small catering menu consisting of local products, salads from the vegetable garden, cakes and ice cream to eat in or take away as well as a selection of natural Loire wines. The chefs are also in residence and take turns every month to compose two dinners for the hosts. This year, Pierre Touitou, Laszlo Marie Badet and Amandine Sépulcre Crokeumel among others will work in the kitchen.
Guests can walk freely in the art park and swim laps in the swimming pool. Staying at the Château de la Borde is an indirect act of support for artistic creation. The place allows to exchange with the artists, to discover their approach, even to participate in workshops and to attend happenings.
