Here is a comforting, low-calorie spiced drink that replaces hot chocolate or seasonal Viennese coffees. Red rooibos, the emblematic plant of South Africa, is recognized for its virtues and can be consumed at any time of the day thanks to its absence of theine. Combined with almond milk, almond butter and spices, we get a smooth drink perfect for winter afternoons.
Recipe for 1 large cup
Prep time 5 minutes
Ingredients*
1 bag of red rooibos tea
1 cup almond milk
1 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp coconut sugar
powdered spices of your choice (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, ground clove, etc.)
Preparation
Put your rooibos tea bag in a large cup
Fill half the cup with hot water and let it steep while you prepare the rest
Heat the almond milk in a saucepan over low heat. Pour the hot almond milk into a blender and add the almond butter and coconut sugar Blend until smooth and frothy
Remove the tea bag from the cup and pour in the almond milk mixture
Mix and sprinkle with a pinch of your favorite spice
