In one year, Le Tuba Club has become the essential address in Marseille. With its sleek but super polished 60s look, its simple and refined menu, its small private beach and its eco-responsible charter, the hotel ticks all the boxes of good taste and plunges us directly into a photograph of Slim Aarons.
Tucked away in the small fishing village of Goudes outside of Marseille, Tuba could look like a small anonymous seaside hotel-restaurant, except that the address is unanimous and appears in all the press. What is it that makes this former diving club so attractive? Its unique location far from the hubbub of the city with its breathtaking view, its unique history and above all a retro aesthetic decoration finely balanced by the architect Marion Mailaender: vintage furniture and lighting, obsolete decorative objects flirting with kitsch , small bouquets of ubiquitous country flowers, cane fabric from Maison Thevenon, large bays open to the sea like marine paintings, sixties railing, palladiana floor and mellow yellow palette worthy of the heyday of Palm Springs and which smells of the summer...
"This project was born from the desire of two overbooked entrepreneurs to create a simple and pleasant place to break while enjoying their friends.."
The rooms
A few meters from the restaurant, Le cabanon Tuba has 5 rooms with sea view. Like the rest of the premises, studied simplicity predominates with seagrass on the floor, plywood paneling, white organic cotton sheets, cordage or mottled lamps. and "pipe" coat racks created by artist Elvire Bonduelle.
The restaurant
This year, the young and talented chef Antoine Teychené takes over from Bruno Bousselmani and delivers every day his proposal of locavores recipes resolutely turned towards the sea. A la carte, a happy mix of Mediterranean influences: Sicilian sweets, Marseille grills, Provencal marinades, Greek, Nice or Roman salads ...
In my bag
Our "must-have" to chill at Tuba Club.
